This page is where you will find out a bit about the team. It will include a brief sound bite from each member about what drew them into the paranormal and how they became part of Mid Wales Paranormal.

In some cases there maybe a picture by the sound bite, however some of the group wish to remain anonymous for personal reasons. This does not take away from their commitment to the group and their dedication to investigating paranormal occurrences'.

Ian

I have been interested in the paranormal for a number of years.  At one point when I was choosing what to do as a degree I toyed with the idea of studying "Demonology" but the capitalist in me couldn't see any money in this.

I moved to Mid Wales around 10 years ago and it was here that I met Rory. After a few years and a paranormal experience in my own home we found out we had a common interest in the paranormal. It was here that we went on our first ghost hunt (Rory had already been on one at Maesmawr Hall) at "Plas Teg" near Wrexham. Plas Teg is believed to be the most haunted place in Wales and has featured on "Most Haunted" a number of times and "Ghost Hunting: With Girls Aloud". From this trip we formed "Newtown Paranormal" (after being briefly part of a group called Welsh Most Haunted) and we carried out a number of investigations in our local area.

We decided to rename our group from "Newtown Paranormal" to "Mid Wales Paranormal" in order to expand the area that we cover as we felt that people may have thought that we would only investigate locations in Newtown.

Rory

I am the other co-founder of "Mid Wales Paranormal" (formally known as "Newtown Paranormal"). I have lived in this area all my life (as most of you probably already know).

I am the "sensitive" ( I am able to pick up spirits at "haunted" locations. I am still very new to this and I am learning how to use and develop this skill all the time) for the group and this makes me a firm believer in the paranormal and the afterlife. I am also very interested in the history and stories behind so called "haunted" locations, and I am working on compiling as many "haunted" stories from the Mid Wales area as I can so that we can publish them on our website in order to make sure that they are documented for future generations. I believe that local "haunted stories  give us a valuable insight into why a place may be "haunted" and the history of the local area.

My interest in the paranormal has grown steadily over recent years after spending time discussing it with Rory and Ian. I would class myself as an open minded sceptic. I think that a number of so called paranormal phenomena can be explained by natural explanations but I am very keen to investigate those that cannot. I feel that I bring a pragmatic and level headed approach to the teams investigations.

I joined "Newtown Paranormal" after spending a fascinating few hours investigating Maesmawr Hotel with some of the team. I feel that our name change to "Mid Wales Paranormal" will give us greater scope for investigating more "haunted" locations in the future. I have always had a strong interest in the paranormal, and have experienced some strange things since I was a teenager that made me sure that there is some life beyond the grave. Like other members of the team, I am keen to unearth some concrete evidence to prove what my gut feeling tells me is there.
